Fortune going in for a re design
Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 02:42PM Like Newsweek and BusinessWeek before it, looks like Fortune is headed towards some kind of re-design, too.
According to my sources, they announced in an internal meeting on Tuesday that they were bringing in a new art director from Entertainment Weekly to replace the heads of the art and photo departments, who were let go. Evidently, the magazine is going to have more pics and less words, or as one insider put it, the "People Magazine-ization of Fortune." In addition, it looks like they may be adding management and career sections, which of course is good for PR peeps. No specific time on the new launch -- may be a "slow roll" evolution.
