Paul Krugman is a permanent poke to the eye
Monday, March 30, 2009 at 09:48PM Newsweek has an interesting cover story on economist Paul Krugman ... interesting, only because it reveals how far out of the mainstream his economic views really live.
Anyone who reads the New York Times knows that he's a devout Keynsian. What you might not know, however, is how much antipathy he has for the President and his economic policies. According to Krugman, the stimulus package was too small (way too small for that matter); the Geithner plan is completely misguided because it doesn't nationalize the entire banking sector; and taxes are still too low ... for everyone.
Beyond that, you'll learn that he's not very well respected in the academic community; not very well liked by the Obama administration; and not very careful with the facts sometimes. Other than that, he has a Nobel Prize on his mantle.
