White House to make Limbaugh the issue

Rahm Emanel has a creepy weasel streak to him, but there's no denying that he's a brilliant political strategist.

This morning on Face the Nation, he foreshadowed the Administration's new strategy in dealing with the Congressional Republicans: paint them as Rush Limbaugh acolytes intent on seeing the president fail.

Expect to see the Administration's talking heads parrot the same rhetoric over coming days. They're effectively trying to force the Congressional Republicans to distance themselves from Limbaugh -- in a sense drive a wedge between them. It leaves the Republicans with two (bad) choices: either denounce Limbaugh, or leave the charge unanswered. Either way, it's a White House win.
