Then there is the matter of Leon Panetta as CIA chief. Why would team Obama flagrantly avoid Diane Feinstein's counsel -- she's the chair of the Senate Intelligence committee -- and instead discuss it with junior members of the committee? It torqued her off -- things like that normally do -- and prompted her to piss on it before it was even announced. Evidently Obama and Feinstein patched things up, but it's sloppy, sloppy politics ... and not the way to hit the ground running.
And lets not forgot Bill Richardson's hasty departure from Commerce. His nomination looked slap-dash from the very beginning -- like neither side was totally committed to it -- and his withdrawal seems equally as rushed. Some are saying he was pushed; others contend it was Richardson's choice. Again, sloppy politics.
