Ryder Cup back where it belongs: on U.S. soil
Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 05:35PM Ok my last golf blog of the year.
But it's a doozy. The United States finally regained the Ryder Cup after a string of lopsided defeats the past decade.
Hats off to Paul Azinger for leading the good guys to victory, even without Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson (oh, Phil played ... he just never showed up).
The Europeans have taken pride in stomping us -- especially on their home turf -- and it was nice to see the Americans deliver some payback, with interest.
Maybe it'll silence the Euros, at least for the next two years. Probably not.
