Good Job Green Bay - trade away HoF QB for a pack of Reeses Pieces

So the Brett Favre saga comes to an end .... for now.

I'm a Giants fan, so I've looked at this with much amusement, but from my vantage point the Packers really fumbled this one away.

They've booted arguably one of the greatest QB's of all-time simply because they had "moved on" ... Ok, lets see if that explination works come October when they're 2-5 and Aaron Rodgers is doing his Rex Grossman impersonation.

Packers management looks like a bunch of boobs.  I'm just as tired of Favre's diva behavior, but to exile him to the Jets just because they had "moved on" is rediculous.   This is all good news for the Giants though:  the Pack is no longer a threat, and it will actually take attention away from Eli Manning and their quest for a repeat.   Thanks GB!

To be fair - there's something to be said for moving forward with a true team player with a lesser skill set than an individualist such as Favre has proven to be. He thought he was bigger than the team, his teammates and arguably the NFL governing policies. Favre got everything he deserved and more.

As a Bears fan, I do owe it to your readers to clarify the Rex Grossman comparison is probably undeserved as Aaron no doubt has mastered the "art" of the drop back. Unfortunately Rex continued to show this basic skill, perfected by pee wee leaguers, still elludes him as he promptly fell on his backside after taking a snap in yesterday's game.
