Don't speed (unless you want the world to know)
Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 04:06PM This story sort of falls tangentially under the rubrick of PR ...
Brad Stone of the New York Times has a great piece about a new website called www.criminalsearches.com. It's a free database covering all 50 states and the federal government, and reports on everything from serous crimes to traffic violations.
It's pretty fascinating (and fun to play around with). It just underscores the reaility that everything -- absolutely everything -- is now public domain. In our hyper-personalized world, where everyone has their own "brand", it simply adds another piece to the puzzle. So the next time you're thinking about blowing through that red light, consider that the whole world is watching.

I tried searching for myself on this site. Minor traffic violation.
It didn't include me in the search results. I guess according to the internet, i've got a clean slate.
Ironically, I searched your name too Amy. :-)
Actually, I spent about a half hour searching all my family and friends, and only came up with one hit.
