What we learned today ...

Ok, here is what we've learned today:

Someone named Chet Edwards made his way onto the final shortlist.  Who is Chet Edwards you ask? I have no clue. Evidently, he's Congressman from Texas who happens to represent Bush's home district of Crawford. Why is this information coming out now? Probably because Obama just wants to screw with the media a little more.  There's no chance of ol' Chet being the Veep.

Joe Biden's family is descending on Delaware.  Why is this important? I'm not sure why. Maybe they miss dad.  Since Obama supposedly hasn't told his Veep selection anything yet, I'm not sure why the Biden clan would be circling the wagons.   But I'm sure Joe likes having them around.

Hillary isn't being vetted.  At least, according to sources in the Hillary camp.  Why is this important? I think Obama wants to keep the Hillary surprise alive, meaning the less likely it seems that she's the one, the more of coup it will actually be.  I still think she's under heavy consideration, even if there's been zero vetting and almost no scuttlebutt the past few days.

And to support that theory, just check out the story on Drudge about the sign company in Kansas City that supposedly has been making Obama-Bayh bumper stickers and posters.  What are we supposed to make of this?  I think it's another smokescreen to keep the Hillary Surprise alive.   Or maybe it means that Bayh actually is the Veep selection. I'm all guessed out at this point.

Credit Obama with creating more suspense then the "Who Shot JR" episode of Dallas.
