Race Tightening

A bunch of polls have come out the past two days showing that the race has tightened to a dead heat. In fact, Zogby shows McCain with a 5 point lead.
I think it has more to do with the war in Georgia and Obama's seeming lack of conviction than anything else. It highlighted the experience gap in a way that never occured during the primaries, and McCain is reaping the benefits.
And sow how does this 11th hour wrinkle impact Obama's Veep decision? I contend -- perhaps crazily -- that it brings Hillary into play. I know Joe Biden is still the favorite, and Evan Bayh is the safe choice, but Hillary is clearly the game changer. And more and more, it's looking like Obama needs a game changer. It's still a long long shot, but I won't totally rule it out.
