MLB Fan Fest an awesome experience

If you live within driving distance of New York City, and you're a baseball fan, you should check out Major League Baseball's Fan Fast at the Javits Center.

frankbaseball2.jpgIt's part of the celebration of the All-Star game, which is being held at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.  Hats off to MLB for putting together an awesome exhibit.   It was reasonably priced, and had all sorts of activities like trivia games; hitting, fielding, and pitching competitions; Hall of Fame exhibits; and autograph signing (Don Mattingly was signing on Sunday).

I was half-expecting to get fleeced, but aside from the ticket price, all the activities were free, including (unbelievably) the autograph signings.  There were lots of product samplings (Baby Ruth candy bars; Taco Bell) and giveaways as well.   It looks like MLB has finally figured out how to market the greatest product in the world, baseball.

Nick, was it as exciting as "Monument Park" in the house that Ruth built?
By the way, where are they putting monument park at the new Met's stadium?

Hey FTR, the new Mets monument park will be located next to the 2008 World Series trophy :-)
