Late Night Rendezvous (where was Bill?)

We're less than a week into the general election, and already there's been an annoying number of "dream-ticket" stories.

The latest one is about the chicanery that took place last night that brought Obama and Hillary together for a meeting while the press corp was on a plane to Chicago (where was Bill -- oh wait, Thursday is ladies night at the Coco Loco).

Honestly, who cares.  The will they/won't they storyline is already getting tired -- feels like an old episode of Cheers.

cheers1.jpgObama has made it clear he's going to take his time and vet a bunch of candidates; it's highly unlikely he does anything before August.

Meanwhile, McCain's people are already focus grouping Hillary voters in key states like Pennsylvania and Ohio to get a sense of their motivating issue.  A quarter of her supporters told exit polls that they wouldn't vote for Obama, which is probably the only thing that will keep McCain in the game.  If Obama gets that number down to 10%, it's game over.
