Clinton wins big ... so what
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 07:02AM As expected, Hillary Clinton won big last night in West Virginia.
And what did she get for her 40 point victory? A net pickup of 10 delegates. Obama effectively negated that by rolling out some more superdelegate commitments.
The win gives her a temporary shot of adrenaline, and perhaps a boost in fundraising, but little else. The exit polls, however, show some serious signs of weakness for Obama in the general election. A whopping 37 percent of Hillary's voters in West Virginia said they'd vote for McCain. If that holds true, Obama has no chance of winning WV in the fall -- a state that every successful Democratic candidate has won since 1916.
By staying in the race, Hillary keeps some focus on Obama's weakness with working class voters, as will certainly be the case next week in Kentucky when she wins big again. For his part, Obama is continuing to focus on must-win general election states -- Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Missouri.

I sound like a broken record, but the clear winner again was Johnny MaC.
