Terry McAuliffe spins 720 degrees

Clinton finance chair and all-around enabler Terry McAuliffe was on Meet the Press this morning spinning fast and furious the case for Hillary Clinton -- so much so that his head virtually swiveled 720 degrees like Linda Blair in the Excorsist.

tmac.jpgRussert confronted him with a bunch of contradictions and McAuliffe had an answer for everything.  Hillary's USA Today interview where she said "hard-working Americans, white Americans" won't support Obama? She was paraphrasing the Associated Press, so said Sir Terry (which isn't even true -- she came up with the phrase hard-working white Americans, not the AP)

What about the moving goal posts -- back when Hillary was the frontrunner, the Clinton's frequently quoted the 2025 number as the delegate total needed to secure the nomination, but now they speak of 2209 as the official number ... McCaullife's spin: we can't disenfranchise voters, (even though both candidates agreed that Florida and Michigan should be penalized, and back when McCaullife was the DNC chair he did the same exact thing to Michigan).

And what about tension between the two camps and their supporters (a third of Clinton supporters won't vote for Obama, and a quarter of his voters won't support Clinton) ... McCaullife:  We'll be a happy family when this is all over.  Um, sure.  And Manny Ramirez and Derek Jeter are eloping next week in Vegas.  The Clintons have an army of surrogates at their ready for any media occassion; why they choose to use this guy is is truly baffling.
