Incoming White House Counsel Greg Craig's internal investigation of the contacts between President-Elect Obama's staff and maniacally corrupt Governor Rod Blogojovich turned up no evidence of any wrong doing.
This, according to incoming White House counsel Greg Craig. You know him ... he's the incoming guy. Who works for Obama.
So my question for Greg Craig is this: did he speak to anyone from Blogojovich's office? Ummm .... no. Did he speak to anyone outside of Obama's staff. Again, no. So he's just going on what Obama's staff told him, essentially. That's fine -- this isn't a criminal investigation of the White House.
But that doesn't answer the most important question: Was Rahm Emanuel aware that Governor Blagojovich was soliticting favors in return for the Senate appointment, and if so what did he do about it? Until those questions are resolved, Emanuel won't be in the clear.
This thing has a long way to go. To quote poet Dylan Thomas, Blogojovich isn't going gentle into that good. There's going to be all sorts of skeletons flying out of the closet before it's all said and done.
