Drip drip drip
Friday, December 19, 2008 at 08:24AM Nobody should be surprised by this story in the Chicago Sun Times regarding Rahm Emanuel's deeper-than-first-reported involvement in Blago's Senate search.
Emanuel is in trouble. There is no evidence of wrong doing yet, but this drip drip drip of revelations can't be good. I'll say it again: If Emanuel pressured Blago in any way -- and we know that Rahmbo likes to mix it up Chicago-style every now and again -- to pick Obama favorite Valerie Jarrett, he's going to be forced out.
I don't think it even requires a quid-pro-quo deal caught on tape; just the appearance of pressuring Blago to take Jarrett will create enough distaste to force him out. The knock against Emaneul has always been his partisan temperament and love of hardball tactics. If he was bullying Gov Hairdo, it'll be hard for him to run a "post-partisan" White House.
