Friday, November 7, 2008 at 07:40PM President-elect Obama held his fist presser today to discuss the rapidly deteriorating economy.
It was a mostly sober session except for when it wasn't. His Einsteinian advisors should have told him to stick to the serious stuff and leave the yucks to the late night guys.
He made a couple of lame stabs at humor, first with a wisecrack about Nancy Reagan and séances, and then with a doggie joke about not getting a pooch from the pound because it would be a "mutt like me".
If a Republican dissed the kennels like that the ASPCA would be all over them, but I'm sure the Chosen One will get a free pass.
Obama can be a little tone deaf at times, especially when he goes for the laughs -- he comes off as smarmy and smart aleck-y. It reminds me of the time in New Hampshire when he sniped at Hillary during the debate for being "likeable enough". Anyway, something to keep an eye on.
