At least I try to keep the stories upbeat, like the FSU student who won the Rhodes Scholarship. But the site of Lenny Dykstra chomping on a twizzler outside a courtroom after settling a lawsuit is just to good to pass up.
The bloggers at Gothamist caught up with the former Met known as "nails" (nicknamed presumably for his toughness though it could be for being dumb as nails) on the courthouse steps following the settlement of a $140,000 lawsuit against him for failing to pay an accounting bill. The New York Daily News reports that resolution would have occurred sooner but his original lawyers dumped him for being a deadbeat.
For those unfamiliar with Dykstra, since ending his playing days, he's been passing himself off as some kind of tobacco spitting Warren Buffett, though as my buddy Josh Lipton at Forbes uncovered, it's mostly a bunch of BS.

i always loved Lenny as a player...he was a regular on my brother and my fantasy baseball team, but he is a grade A moron. Somehow, even 60 minutes, in a segment last year or the year before, was duped into the idea that he was a financial whiz. He admitted he can barely read and learned his craft from renting videos on stock trading.
