Evil still lurks

The horrific terrorist attacks in Mumbai are a stark reminder that evil still lurks in the world.

We've been so focused on the deteriorating economy that it's been easy to forget that radical militant terrorism still exists in the world, and it's singularly focused on killing westerners.

But terrorism isn't going away -- not by a long shot.  President-Elect Obama will have to be as vigilant in protecting us at home as he has been with staving off an economic depression .... which is to say, very.

At the end of the day, any economic recovery is dependant upon on tranquility at home.  Markets hate chaos and uncertainty, and few things create more uncertainty than terrorism.  Just one more thing to put on the President-Elect's radar.

U know what is so interesting is how Facebook is a tool for peeps to communicate to their friends/family that they're alright or helping friends/family who were over there with the contact information that they need. it was interesting to see the dynamic of social media in the election...it's also so different in the response to a major terrorist attack. so sad, but happy tday!
