Where's Obama's treasury selection?

I'm a bit surprised that President-Elect Obama still hasn't named a Treasury Secretary yet.

Given the continued chaos with the financial markets, you would have thought that finding a Treasury head to work with the outgoing administration would have been a top priority.

Guess not.  The prez elect seems to be taking his good 'ol time, even as the markets reach new lows with each passing day.  How many candidates could they possibly be vetting? New York Fed President Tim Geithner and former Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers seem to be the front runners, though that could change in a moments notice.

Time to get on with it.  The markets need some stability and reassurance, and having a new Treasury head would help.  The economy is going to dominate his first two yeras in office, and quite possible the entire first term.  If Obama gets the economy wrong, the other issues won't much matter because there won't be a second term.

Where's Obama?
The Washington Post and entire mainstream media are being extremely lax and complacent about not demanding at least one daily behind the scenes photo of Obama and his transition team working. This would allay a lot of anxiety on Wall Street about the future knowing that O is actually still alive and well! The announcement that Hillary Clinton will be named SOS after Thanksgiving is most bizarre. Then, add Mukasey’s collapse today and we wonder, “What’s really going on? What are they not telling us?” And, just when will Janet Napolitano order the immediate vetting of ALL Justice Department personel? Photos, please. We're beginning to think there's been a Clinton cabal behind the scenes. P.S. Sen. Baucus, Chairman of Senate Finance Committee for Treasury -- coulda named him on Nov. 5th and the market wouldn't have been in this bad shape.

See Nick it's already happening.

Obama is in WAY over his head. And look, he runs his entire campaign on bringing CHANGE to washington, yet he is considering HILLARY CLINTON as the secretary of state and looking at many other CLINTON insiders for his cabinet? Where is the change? It's washington polotics as usual.

The american people are going to realize VERY FAST that when all the talk is over, this Jr. Senator has mad a career out of speaches and no action, and nothing is going to be different.

The fact that he hasn't named a Treasury Secreatary as of yet is down right ridiculous. The fact that the PRESIDENT ELECT hasn't even adressed this issue over the past 3 days with the market taking these hits...is RIDICULOUS.

His presidency is a prime example of what is fundamentally wrong with Affirmative Action....un UNDERQUALIFIED black man simply getting the job because he is black...and that's fine when there is nothing to be done, but RIGHT NOW we need a leader who knows what he is doing, not some inexperienced speach giver who gives into the pressure of the Clintons
